just the right touch
I saw this on a blog (I don't remember where!!) and saved it in my inspiration folder. I think that this is the best use for table numbers. I just love it and really wanted to use it. I finally used the idea for a small intimate party I was hired to do, but I think it would be great for a wedding or anything else. You can jazz up the label and personalize it as well. Very classy.

my wish is coming true
Thank you to my friend Leslie from Leslie's Lines for informing me of some very important news. I have a major problem with the fame of Heidi & Spencer, it eats at my core. I could go on for days, but then I would be giving them publicity so I can't. Well guess what! I am obviously not alone because 94% of the people who voted wanted to make E online Speidi-Free! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The have been expelled. Wow, maybe in the near future all entertainment will be Speidi-Free. A girl can hope.
the best
I cannot believe I didn't post about Playmobil earlier! These are the best toys. Brody is 4 years old now and it's the perfect play toy for him. He's too young to really play with Legos and build things properly, but he's old enough for pretend play and to have big-boy figures. We got him the airport for his birthday, and man they make quality toys. We are so impressed with every detail they put into their parts, even a bathroom on the airplane. There are a lot of tiny pieces so I keep it in a closet and we bring it out to the kitchen table for him to play. I highly recommend their products and they are best to buy directly online here so you can see everything they have for each collection. Toys R Us carries a limited selection and mostly just small boxes. Totally worth the money and for a boy or girl!
good sales
Old Navy and Gap have had the best sales lately! I swear I have gotten the best buys and they do them frequently! I bought baby, kids & maternity stuff. Love it!
for my belly
So most of you know that I'm pregnant and I'm going to try not to do too many pregnancy posts, because let's face it, most of you probably are not pregnant, but I had to post about this! I won a BellaBand in this gigantic gift basket giveaway and I love it. It helped me hide my belly in my regular jeans by letting me unbutton them and smooth my little bump. Now it's helping me keep my too big maternity jeans up. Next, it will help keep my belly from pushing my pants down and last, I know it will help me post-baby body get back into clothes. I never had this with my other two pregnancies so it's like a nice little luxury (although it's not that expensive). For more info go here.

oldie but a goodie
I made this dessert last 4th of July and loved it. In fact it's a repeat blog, but 4th of July is getting closer and it was a hit! So here's the recipe from Martha Stewart. It's pretty easy and I also put strawberries in mine.
Ingredients
1/4 cup plus 1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 store-bought pound cake (12 ounces), cut into 3/4-inch-thick slices
1 bar (8 ounces) reduced-fat cream cheese, room temperature
1 cup heavy cream
3 cups fresh blueberries (three 1/2-pint containers), rinsed and dried
3 cups fresh raspberries (two 6-ounce containers)
Directions
1. Make lemon syrup: In a small saucepan, bring 1/4 cup sugar, lemon juice, and 1/4 cup water to a boil over medium heat, stirring to dissolve sugar. Let cool completely, then brush over both sides of cake slices. Quarter each slice.
2. With an electric mixer, beat cream cheese with remaining 1/3 cup sugar on high speed until lightened. With mixer on medium speed, gradually add heavy cream in a steady stream; continue beating until mixture is light and airy (mixture will be like a very soft whipped cream).
3. Arrange half the cake pieces in the bottom of a 2-quart serving dish. Spoon half the cream-cheese mixture over the cake in dollops; spread to sides of dish. Scatter half the blueberries and raspberries on top. Repeat layering with remaining cake, cream-cheese mixture, and berries, piling berries in the center.
4. Cover, and refrigerate until chilled, at least one hour and up to overnight.
I'm sorry I've been away. Were you sick of seeing the Vons logo over and over again? I heard that a few times. In the course of a few weeks I had a lot of stress for work, a very sick child, a child with a tooth pulled, a lot of tiredness, loss of inspiration and an announcement that I am pregnant. So, I guess I needed a break. But I'm back. So glad.

to your door
My lovely friend Noel was so excited about her first Vons grocery home delivery that I had to post about it! She said it was really easy to set up and she choose a 4 hour window delivery time, which made her delivery charge around $6. She said it was totally worth it. You know those times when we just can't fit the grocery store in, why not do this every now and then? Plus you get free delivery on your first order! Try it here.

opposite day
This is almost a non-fav. I think my first.
I bought this Kandoo Bright Foam Handsoap for Brody last week. It looked fun. It's a bright purple and they do that so that kids can see that they covered their hands with enough soap while washing. Great concept, only one problem! Every time I look into my kids' bathroom there are purple spots all over the counter and it looks awful. Brody is 4 and spills the soap while washing, then it dries on the counter. No big deal because you can wipe it up in a second, but still a little annoying. I'm not throwing it out, we will use it all up, but thought I would share. It won't be my first choice next time, but not the worst thing in the world!

sea world
We went to Sea World on Sunday with friends and had a great time! We go quite frequently, but this time we hit some of the shows (minus the Shamu show). We all agreed that the Sea Lions Live show was the best! Even the pre-show part was really cute, so you aren't bored while waiting for the show to start. It was really entertaining so I had to share!
get active
Mark bought the new EA Sports Active Personal Trainer for the Wii and he loves it! He has been using it every night (and he's a little sore). He said that it really makes you sweat! It's 100% customizable and he really likes the boxing and that it tracks your calories. My life has been busy so I haven't used it yet, but I can't wait! It's $59.99 and it comes with a thigh strap and the elastic band.
