have you tried it?

I keep hearing about the Perfect Brownie Baking Pan on Facebook and how much people love theirs. I think I want one. I think I saw it at Target and online at Amazon.com. Who has one and do you love it?

an apple a day

It's amazing that something so simple like an Apple Corer, can make lunchtime so easy. I never would have thought that I needed or wanted one. But we got one as a gift and I use it all the time. An apple a day keeps the doctor away! Ours sells at Crate and Barrel for $14.95 and it has a nice little cover.

we love it

Thanks to my sister Jen, my whole family is now obsessed with the Keurig Single-Cup Brewing System. She got one for Christmas, Mark loved it and used his Christmas money to buy one (we got ours at Costco)! They have different models, but no matter which one you get it's easy to use. I don't even drink coffee and I find myself having a nice cup of tea every night. It's so great not to have to make a whole pot of anything.

guess what we are making??

Wish us luck! We are following Design Mom's creative lead and making this toddler bed, just with different fabric for Piper. If we get through it, we'll post pictures! Can't wait to start on it.

We couldn't decide on buying Piper a toddler bed or a twin bed. Neither are cheap. So we decided to go this route and make her one instead. If Design Mom's calculations are right, it should only cost us around $37 to make (that does not include a mattress, but you can use your crib mattress if it's available).

finally

We use to have a spice rack, but it never fit anyplace well and it just didn't work out. You had to put everythng in certain bottles and label them. So we just threw all our spices in our pantry and we search for them as we need them. We are use to it. Lately though, I was thinking that this isn't working out, but I didn't want to go back to the spice rack, I wanted something that different size spices could fit in. I went to Costco and found these OXO turntables for the pantry. They came in a pack of 2, one 11" turntable and one 16" turntable for around $19.00. I love them! I know they are nothing new, my mom use to have a wooden one. But these are plastic and sturdy. The smaller one fits ALL our spices, no matter what size. The larger one fits canned goods and anything else. Such a good buy and I feel instantly more organized.

what a difference

Another borrowed fav like the post below. My friend Jackie (also owner of fav in post below) let me borrow her pastry set to decorate cupcakes for Piper's party. It made piping so easy. There is no messy pastry bag and this is easy to clean. It has lots of different tips and we had fun experimenting. I think this is a must have for mom's who love to bake and have always wanted their baking to look a little nicer.

do you?

Do you have a cheese knife? I don't but I borrowed our neighbor's knife while preparing for Piper's party and let me tell you, it works so well!! It cuts cheese into cubes so easily, I couldn't believe what a difference it made. This is a kitchen gadget I have to have and will pick up next time I'm out. A must have fav for anyone who loves to entertain.
