My new fav daily blog, The Sartorialist. Every day I love to look and see what images are up that mix fashion and every day people. It's like art work and useful inspiration in one place. There is something beautiful about seeing every day people dressed fashionably that inspires me to want to find my own unique way of wearing clothes.

good stuff

Twice this month we have had dinner at a friend's house and they have used a seasoning mix for their guacamole and they have both been really good. I'm not sure which brand they used but I'm kind of a fan. Plus you can still add your own touches into it. Yum yum!

sweet treats

We bought this box of 600lb Gorillas Ice Cream Sandwiches at Costco and they were SO GOOD! We took them over to a friend's house for dessert and they were gobbled up quickly. I think it's the yummy vanilla bean ice cream in the middle or maybe the delicious chocolate chip cookies, but either way it's a mean ice cream sandwich. So good.

By the way, two different people that work at the Costco by my house could not stop talking about the Reese's Ice Cream Bars that they carry there. They say they are sinfully delicious. I can't find a picture of the box but they are with the fun ice cream and dessert treats. I will have to try them someday soon!

what i am reading right now

This is what I am reading right now. I have only finished the introduction but I am already really interested in what it has to offer. I noticed a few weeks ago that my six year old doesn't understand the concept of being grateful. He can say thank you but then will turn around and complain about something that he was given. In fact we have had a lot of, "no fairs," "I don't want tos" and other selfish terms. So I am in search of ways to get him to understand our values as a family. If we don't teach our kids morals, the world will be happy to teach them the opposite.

We get asked quite a lot where we got these shorts for our smallest boy. The secret answer? We cut off an old pair of Baby Gap skinny jeans. Perfect for summer to add a little urban flair :) Get cutting!

fav part of the day

We have been taking family sunset walks lately. It's quiet, much cooler and beautiful outside in the summer evenings. We keep finding different areas in out little town to watch the sunset from. This is my favorite part of the day, it keeps us away from the stress and the craziness of life.

birthday tradition

We celebrated my hubby's birthday on the 5th and I made sure to continue his birthday tradition with a scavenger hunt, or in this case a treasure hunt! Do you remember last year's scavenger hunt?

This year was a pirates themed treasure hunt and he woke up to a pirate banner with his first clue. Luckily I found a website with pirate language so the clues could sound authentic. We started off with donuts in the "galley" and from there searched high and low, played pin the tail on the pirate, and found lots of goodies around the house until he finally found the buried treasure in the backyard. It was fun!!!
