i'm selfish

Have you ever found something that you love so much that you don't want anyone to know where you got them from? You want to be the only one you know that has them. I am having that feeling right now. I just got these shoes in the mail for my new little one. He's wearing them. They are perfect, soft, amazing and adorable. I also ordered them in green. So here's where I got them (even though I didn't want to tell you).

I also ordered these tie shirts in every size for this year.

Me loves!

the breast stuff

This post is for the moms who breastfeed. Since it is a large part of my life right now (every 3 hours), I have to share my favs.

These are my favorite nursing pads and I have tried them all! They are soft, not flimsy and are at a great price. I get mine at Target.

I have also found that you can get great nursing bras at Target. For me, I prefer buying a bunch of cheaper nursing bras over one expensive one. I can't do laundry fast enough and they are all really comfortable anyways. I also love to have a few nursing tanks from Target for night time or just for lounging around.

And of course the best thing ever invented, the Bebe au Lait Nursing Cover. I know there are other brands that do the same thing, but this is what I have and I love it. It's 100% cotton and I throw it in the washer all the time. I didn't have one with my first child and I use to cry trying to nurse places. I never had a blanket big enough to cover me and I always felt awkward. I take this cover EVERYWHERE I go. I never leave the house without it. It makes it easy to nurse in public, in the car or at home if you have guests over. A nursing cover is a must have and I love this one. I got mine a couple of years ago at Nordstroms, but I know they sell them all over.

Almost 5 years ago (and 3 kids later) I bought the Medela Pump In Style breast pump and it's still going strong! I used it daily when I worked and I use it now at home. I know that's it's pricey but I think it was a great investment for me.

And, I've already said a million times how much I love my boppy!

Happy nursing!

my new baby fav

I promise this hasn't turned into a baby blog! I will not only post about baby products! But just one more for now. My new favorite baby item is......

The Halo Sleepsack Swaddler. Perfect for swaddling babies when you get home from the hospital. It's so warm for winter and they are so cozy. I seriously love it soooooo much. I got mine at Babies R Us.

(stroller may cost a lot but we never bought anything else, except for the double stroller that we just purchased for outside use, we will still be using the Bugaboo)

oh boy

When my sister and I were little we ALWAYS use to get popcorn at the movies with m&m's on it. It was our favorite. So when planning Whitney's baby shower I wanted to do something that involved that. I came up with "Oh boy she's about to pop." She's having a baby boy so I got to tie that in. Anyhow I loved how they turned out!

By the way, I got the kettle corn from Target, super good!

help please

I need your help!
I have purchase 2 different video monitors (neither are the one above) over the last 4.5 years. One when Brody was a baby and a different one for Piper. Both clonked out around the 6 month mark. While I could still use them both technically, they were not reliable.

Time for a new one. I have researched, read reviews and it looks like they all have flaws. I am leaning towards one in particular, but wanted to know if anyone absolutely loves theirs (and you've had it longer than a few months).

Please let me know!

sweet

Look what I got as a gift from my lovely friend Gina! I am sooooo excited. Now I just need to find some extra time to start sewing. So far I have a lot of burp cloths and that's it. Time to expand.

Anyone else receive any great book lately? Reading books, crafts, anything? If so let us know!

I think people have been trying to tell me this for a few weeks now, but they sell my FAV swaddling wraps at Target now!! The Aden & Anais wraps. Pack of 4 for $29.99. I use to pay $45 for 2. Not sure yet if they are the same, but I can't wait to find out. They are the best!

I won this Trend Lab Moses Basket in a celebrity gift basket. I LOVE it but I'm having a boy. It retails at Babies R Us for $99 and I'm selling it for $50 (plus $6 shipping) on Ebay. Anyone interested??? Too cute to not offer around!

getting ready for spring and summer

Look at all the cute shoes a certain Grandma got Piper from Target. I tell you, I love buying designer shoes for the kids, but Target makes the cutest little girls shoes!! All shoes below are $12.99 and under.

I saw these Baby Bloch shoes on Design Mom's blog. I am literally obsessed with them. I want a pair!! I found some online for around $60 which is a bit pricey even for me. Hopefully I can find them cheaper somewhere else.

l.a.m.b.

I heart baby shoes. I bought these l.a.m.b shoes for Piper at Nordstroms Rack way back (but the style is still around). They are the best shoes and they have lasted forever. It must be the way they fit because she has long grown out of other shoes in the same size, but these keep ticking along. My favorite baby shoes I've ever had between both kids. Brody has also had two pairs of l.a.m.b for bigger boys and we have loved both of them too.

Formula Dispenser

I'm pretty inexperienced in the baby formula department since I am a breast feeding mommy, well until now. Due to my own medical issues I had to switch Piper to formula and I was sad about it, well until I got this new Munchkin Powdered Formula Dispenser. I don't know why I love it so much, but I do. I get to pre-fill it and take it with me and voila! I'm sure all of you bottle feeding moms think I'm crazy, probably everyone uses this, but it's like the most fantastic thing ever. So that's my new fav right now! And yes, it's BPA free. And while I'm at it, we bought their bowls to defrost Piper's baby food and not only are the microwaveable but BPA free as well.

Baby Legs

Tonight Piper wore a pair of her Baby Legs that I purchased when she was a pea size in my belly. They are so darn cute! Little leg warmers on my little pint size girl were too cute for words. They were perfect because we were gone the whole day and by night time it was really cold and she had a dress on. So I grabbed them out of the baby bag and put them on. Toasty warm and adorable! I'm still dying inside on how much I love them and killing myself for not taking a picture. I think she's going to wear them every day! I got mine at Hush Baby in Ladera, but I know you can find them at so many places.

Petunia Pickle Bottom

I get compliments on my Petunia Pickle Bottom clutch every where I go. It usually goes something like this,

them: "Hey, I love your purse."
me: "It's actually my diaper bag."
them: "No way."
me: "No really, here's the changing pad."

Looking for a diaper bag for baby #2 was easy, because I knew that I didn't want the gigantic baby bag like I had for Brody. I loved my x-large Juicy diaper bag, but it actually hurt my shoulder because I stuffed so much stuff in there. I do think that every first-time mom should have a big bag, just for peace of mind. However, I knew this time I would travel light. Just a few diapers, some wipes and maybe an extra onesie. Everything else can be in the car or the bottom of the stroller. So I bought it and I love. I take it everywhere, even if I don't have the kids. And I think I only paid like $65 for it. Best part, I never get that "I miss having a grown up purse" that I use to have with Brody. Go here to check it out, and notice that they now have like 15 patterns!

Cuddle Bugs

Once I found out we were having a girl, I started looking at bedding for the nursery. I am so picky about that kind of stuff and I already knew that first, I would only use the chamois Pottery Barn Kids sheets and second, I didn't want her crib set to be all pink. I was finding that I didn't like any of the patterns out there and I looked everywhere!! And, why would I pay so much money if I didn't want half of the stuff in the set like the sheets or the pillows. After a few months of looking and the only thing I barely liked was over $500, I knew I would have to look at another option. So I started to look into having them custom made. I found Cuddle Bugs Custom Baby online and as soon as I found it I started creating Piper's bedding! By doing it this way I could pick mostly brown fabrics so I wasn't overwhelmed with pink, and I could pick the way everything was laid out, including the type of dust ruffle because I only like the single pleated kind. I put in my order and paid around $375 for the dust ruffle and the bumper. When it arrived 8 weeks later (order early) I was thrilled! The quality was above my expectations and it was worth every penny. I would rather pay the $375 for two perfect items then buy a whole set with things I don't need and fabrics I don't love. I am so bummed that you can't see the dust ruffle in the picture above, it's straight out of PBK. I definitely recommend using cuddle bugs if you can't find what you are looking for. The fabrics I chose are below!

Baby Bling Binky Clip

I love our Baby Bling Binky Clip for Piper! Not only is it cute, but it's very delicate and not bulky like some of the other clips. Only problem is that I got mine in white so it's pretty dirty. I'm ready to order a new one and I'll make sure the ribbon is colored this time! These make great gifts too at $20. I bought mine at Hush Baby in Ladera, but I found them online at Pink Taffy Designs too. They have lots of options and some are decorated with things like a cupcake. So cute.

So Juicy

If you know me, you know I love Juicy Couture. I REALLY love Juicy for my baby girl Piper and when I was checking out their website I came across this adorable-I-want-it outfit for fall. It's so grown up. I mean really, come one now, this is too cute! Check out all their baby stuff here and they have great summer stuff on sale too!

Nursery

Another Pottery Barn posting. I saw this nursery (the Sadie Nursery) in the catalog and I think it is heaven. I love everything about it. I know when I was doing Piper's room I was trying to use as little pink as possible, which is impossible. If I would have seen this room I would have completely copied the color scheme and ideas (minus the animals). Just had to share!
