the goods

We have a Home Goods down the street and I love it. They don't always have what I'm looking for, but when they do it's dead on. This weekend was a lucky weekend where they had everything I needed! It's also such a great place to go for holiday stuff! Remember these Martha Stewart glitter skulls?

Well online they are between $24-$34 for one skull and some bones. Well I got a large green skull, a medium skull and a glitter pumpkin for $19! They might not have been Martha but they sure look similar! So excited.

guess what we are making??

Wish us luck! We are following Design Mom's creative lead and making this toddler bed, just with different fabric for Piper. If we get through it, we'll post pictures! Can't wait to start on it.

We couldn't decide on buying Piper a toddler bed or a twin bed. Neither are cheap. So we decided to go this route and make her one instead. If Design Mom's calculations are right, it should only cost us around $37 to make (that does not include a mattress, but you can use your crib mattress if it's available).

baby pink

I won this Trend Lab Moses Basket in a celebrity gift basket. I LOVE it but I'm having a boy. It retails at Babies R Us for $99 and I'm selling it for $50 (plus $6 shipping) on Ebay. Anyone interested??? Too cute to not offer around!

comfy

These leggings from Gap Maternity may be the most comfortable pants I have ever put on. I could wear them for days if I never left the house. I even wear them when I do paired under a long shirt or short dress. They are the best and worth the $26.50 I hesitated to spend!

so yum!

I don't love specialty cupcakes like Sprinkles. The only cupcakes I like are out of the box. But imagine my surprise when I bit into a cupcake from Whodidily Cupcakes in Montecito, California..... mmmmmmm. There are no words. It was white cake with white chocolae chips in the middle and sweet white icing. It sounds like too much, but it was heaven. If you are anywhere in the Montecito/Santa Barbara area you have to try them!

so excited!

This doll bed from Pottery Barn Kids is $49 (on sale from $69), plus an additional $19 for the bedding.

This doll bed is $19 at Ikea and the bedding is included.

I am a huge fan of Pottery Barn Kids and love to buy all their doll stuff. But I couldn't pay the price they wanted for their doll bed, sale or not! So we bought the Ikea doll bed and we can't wait to paint it white and maybe make some cute new bedding. No matter what we do it can't come close to what it costs at PBK, but I know when I'm done with it it will look just as cute and it will be a great surprise for Piper on Christmas morning! Hooray!

perfection

This weekend was a dear friend's wedding and I feel fortunate to have been a part of it! I have to tell you that I loved the company who did the hair and makeup. They are called Something Blue Stylists and they were great and so much fun! To say that the bride looked anything less than gorgeous is an understatement!!!

yummmmmmmmm

BOO!

Did anyone else get the Grandinroad Halloween Haven Catalog today? Well Martha Stewart collaborated with them on Halloween decorations, and this catalog made Mark and myself drool. Parts of it actually scared me a little. If you love Halloween as much as we do, you have to check it out online here (although it's not as impressive as seeing it all in the catalog). Here are some pics of the Martha Stewart stuff, but even some of the non-Martha Stewart stuff is CRAZY like the last picture!

veggies

At the end of the day, I feel like my kids are still not getting enough vegetables in their diet. I've got the other food groups covered pretty well. So I started buying the Trader Joe's vegetable trays. They are only $4.99 and I set it out on the table at lunch every day and let Brody eat as much as he wants. Usually I don't provide ranch as a dip for any of our meals, but you know what, he dips a small amount and I love the number of veggies he eats this way. I think the $4.99 is worth it because I don't have to do any chopping or storing!
