Heading towards the New Year

One thing I'm not very big on, as we head towards the New Year, is the recap. Every darn magazine or TV show likes to recap 2008. We all know what happened, we were paying attention the whole year. We want to look forward as we get closer, not look back.  So there will be no recapping on this blog, only introspective as we move towards a new year.

One thing I think that is important to do is take a minute and look at ourselves. Especially in hard times it's important to be positive about everything that we do have and all of our strengths. So today (or whichever day you read this) I would love it if you would post a comment about one of your strengths, something that you like about yourself. I know a lot of you read my blog (because you tell me) but you never comment. Please sign in, or comment as anonymous. It's good for all of us to remind ourselves how great we are. I'll go first.

My favorite attribute about myself is that I am fearless. Not the jumping off the cliff kind of fearless, but the not afraid to take a risk and put myself out there fearless (getting my MBA, starting a non profit walk, starting a blog, doing a job I was under qualified for, starting my own business, etc). I know people are afraid of failure so they hold back, but I have found that I have never failed myself and I have always taken the harder road where I do things that might be difficult. Trust me the rewards are amazing and I will never have regrets in old age.

Now your turn.

(Check back for the next few days as I post about an end of the year favorite- the New Years Resolution.)

Oh good one Amanda. I love this about you...ok um...my attribute...

I see the good in everyone. I see that no matter if you have committed a crime, I will always try to see the why in it and have compassion and understanding for it. It is the other half of me that I hold on to when my conservative, no hards bar side comes out, lol. It is why I want to be a nurse, to see the good in everyone. When you need a nurse, you are equal no matter what you have done in life.

And to you Amanda, I am so proud of you and all that you have accomplished. From your big adventure to starting your own business to becoming a Mom of two, you are a true inspiration to everyone you meet. Know that someone in Japan LOVES YA sweets! :)

Lauren, I love that! So many people have a hard time finding the good in people.

I am proud to have stared a business doing what I love, while raising my child. I am ok having not been the best housewife while doing that, but I think I am a good mommy , wife, and business owner. Thanks amanda i am so proud of you and your accomplishments!!

Whitney- I am so proud of you and what a great success your business has become in such a short amount of time. And Jo was lucky to have you home with her while doing it. And who is the best housewife really?

Eva- Not only is is true, open mind & heart, and what I love about you, but you are also so happy with the simple things, just like your short little comment. So you. xo
